ADAPT

ADAPT is a randomised controlled trial investigating the use of plasma p-tau217 testing in community memory assessment clinics in the UK.

Trial requirements:

Participants will be recruited via NHS memory services.

Participants will only be approached by clinicians if they have been referred to an NHS memory service and are attending their first appointment.

The study involves people aged 50 years and above with a history of cognitive complaints reported by the individual and their loved one.

The individual with memory problems must have a friend or relative who knows them well and is able to take part in the trial alongside them.

Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for the trial if any of the following apply:

  • You have normal cognition or subjective memory concerns that are not supported by cognitive testing.

  • Your amyloid status and/or plasma p-tau217 status is already known to you.

Please note it is not possible to enrol in the trial after a formal diagnosis has been made.

Additional Information

Length of trial if successfully screened: 15 months

Frequency of visits: Every 3 months

Type of trial: Diagnostic study
